About SMP Contractors Ltd

SMP Contractors Ltd is a landscaping and outdoor services company based at Priory Place in Tiptree, on the edge of Colchester. Since we were founded in 2021, our work has focused on practical outdoor projects, including laying turf, maintaining lawns, cutting back hedges and shrubs, fencing, patios and general garden work for homeowners and businesses across Essex.

From landscaping work to selling tools

Working in landscaping every day means using tools in real conditions. Over the years, we have seen which tools are useful for regular garden maintenance, which features make jobs easier and which tools are less suitable for demanding work.

Our customers also regularly ask which tools we use and where they can find suitable equipment for their own gardens and outdoor projects.

That led us to expand SMP Contractors Ltd into online retail.

Our online store is operated directly by SMP Contractors Ltd and focuses on a practical range of gardening, landscaping and hand tools. The store is an extension of the same business and experience behind our landscaping work.

What we sell

We keep our product range focused on tools that are useful for everyday gardening, landscaping, maintenance and DIY work.

Our current range includes:

• Loppers and hedge shears for cutting branches and maintaining hedges

• Pruning shears for flowers, shrubs, plants and woody growth

• Weeding tools for beds, lawns, patios, paving and garden maintenance

• Hand tools including wrenches, pliers, tool kits and support equipment for workshop and home projects

We aim to provide straightforward product information and practical specifications so customers can understand what they are buying before placing an order.

One company, two parts of the business

SMP Contractors Ltd operates both our landscaping services and our online tool store.

Our landscaping work gives us practical experience with the types of tools used for outdoor maintenance, while our online store allows us to make a selection of these types of products available to customers across the UK.

Online orders, customer service, returns and other ecommerce activities are handled by SMP Contractors Ltd.

How we work

We keep the product range focused rather than trying to sell everything. Each product is presented with clear specifications and information about its intended use.

Orders are processed within 1–2 business days and delivered across the UK. If a product isn't right for you, our 30-day returns policy provides a straightforward way to return it, subject to the terms of our returns policy.
