Who are SMP Contractors?

We're a landscaping company based in Tiptree, Essex, registered in England and Wales (company number 13564168). As well as our landscaping work, we sell garden and hand tools online to customers across the UK.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

Not at the moment. We deliver to UK addresses only.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days and usually arrive within 5–6 business days after that, so allow 6–8 business days in total.

Is delivery free?

Yes, on orders over £50. For smaller orders, the delivery charge is shown at checkout before you pay.

Which carriers do you use?

Royal Mail, DPD and FedEx, depending on the size and destination of your order.

How can I track my order?

You'll receive a dispatch email with tracking details once your order ships.

What payment methods do you accept?

Major debit and credit cards, including Visa and Mastercard, and Shop Pay.

Can I return an item?

Yes. Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Email us first and we'll send instructions.

Who pays for return postage?

We cover return postage for damaged, faulty or incorrect items. For change-of-mind returns, the customer pays return postage.

What's the difference between bypass and anvil pruners?

Bypass pruners cut like scissors, with two blades passing each other, which gives a clean cut on live, green stems. Anvil pruners press a single blade onto a flat surface, which gives more force on dry, dead or woody growth. Many gardeners keep one of each.

Do your hedge shears need charging or fuel?

No. Our hedge shears and loppers are fully manual, so there are no batteries, cables or fuel to manage.

How do I look after my garden tools?

Wipe blades clean after use, dry them thoroughly and store them somewhere dry. A light oil on metal parts before storage helps prevent rust.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Contact us as soon as possible. If your order hasn't been dispatched, we can usually amend or cancel it.
